Ghent’s culture centre Vooruit is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year by shining a spotlight on some of the beers it used to brew, such as the Uitzet-, Bock- and Triomfbier. Very few people know about Vooruit’s brewing past. For the occasion, the culture centre teamed up with Brasserie Dupont (maker of Moinette, Bon Voeux and Saison Dupont, among others) to create a new version of Triomfbier. The 100% organic, high fermentation beer of 6 abv has a unique smoked malt flavour. Currently 6,000 litres of Triomfbier are being brewed at the Dupont Brewery in Tourpes, in Wallonia’s Henegouwen province. The new beer can be found at the Vooruit bar and shop.
