Wild friends

image015Brussels’ Cantillon inspires a transatlantic blend of tradition and ingenuity, as John Rega reports

Like beer-loving friends getting together over a glass, brewers tend to meet up over their best bottles.

So it was at Cantillon brewery in May, at its latest Quintessence tasting event. The lambic maker was joined by colleagues newer to the craft, from both extremes of the US: Allagash Brewing of Maine and Russian River Brewing of California.
