East vs West

Flemish sour ales are made in both East Flanders and West Flanders. What’s the difference between the two types? Belgian Beer & Food spoke to two brewmasters, Marc Coesens from Liefmans and Rudi Ghequire from Rodenbach, and considered two beers, the Liefmans Oud Bruin and Rodenbach classic. The difference between the two types of beer consists essentially of three components, as described here.
