Sometimes the key to the future lies in the past.
“Can you imagine my email address? Albert-De-Brabandere- at-Brouwerij-De- Brabandere-dot-B-E. It’s a nightmare. I had some people coming up with completely new names but I said no. Stick to what you are, go back to your foundations and you’ll find the answer there. It’s not your website that decides your way forward, it’s your story.”
When we spoke to him, Albert De Brabandere was marketing and retail manager at Bavik Brewery in Harelbeke in West Flanders. Now he does that same job for De Brabandere Brewery. He hasn’t changed, and the brewery hasn’t changed. As he explains it, they’ve simply gone back to their roots.
