Five additional cylindroconical tanks capable of holding 100,000 liters, were lowered into the cellars of Roman Brewery this week, an investment of €2 million. Roman Brewery in Mater, near Oudenaarde, has been a fixture in the Belgian beer landscape for more than four centuries. Owner Carlo Roman sees investing in the future as an absolute necessity. “Our growth is in the export specialty beers, especially the Ename range,” said Roman. Despite a falling Belgian beer market, Roman Brewery closed the year 2012 with a turnover of €14 million, an increase of nine percent compared to 2011, a growth that is entirely attributed to export.
